When it comes to sizes we have done our best to be as descriptive as possible on our website about all the products we carry. Below are the basics for measuring your pet. Collars
When sizing your pet for a collar, use a tape measure to find the circumference of your pet's neck. Add two inches to the circumference and there you have it. If your pet's measurement falls between two sizes, it's usually best to go with the larger size.
Harnesses
Harnesses fit differently than a collar. When your dog pulls foward during walks, pressure is distributed through the chest and shoulders, not the neck. To size your dog for a harness, you want to measure the girth around your dog's chest. Measure the circumference starting in back of the front leg.
Apparel
When ordering most apparel, you will need to know your pet’s body length. This measurement comes from measuring the distance from your pets neck to the base of the tail.
Note
Please make sure that when your dog receives his/her new collar or harness that you are always able to slide two fingers under the material. That way, you will leave room for pet growth or an increase in coat thickness. It's is good practice to continually check the fit of any apparel, collar or harness. |
