These leashes are handmade by professional New England rope-makers. The custom-made rope used for the leashes are hand-spliced to withstand thousands of pounds of pull and the ends are then "whipped" (an old nautical term) for additional durablility. The rope-makers thank you for supporting their trade.

Hardware is marine-grade solid brass. The individually-numbered, stamped brass tags on each leash serve as a reminder of the uniqueness of your animal and allow FOUND to keep track of the number of animals that have been helped so far. The adjustable solid brass o-rings and solid brass clips (marine grade hardware) on your leash allow it to be used in any of the following ways: - As a simple hand-held leash of variable lengths -Around your waist, freeing up your hands - Over your shoulder, across your chest -To clip your animal to a fence, a tree or a post without worrying about the security of a knot. Never leave your animal unattended. It is very easy to adjust the brass o-rings, you hold one of the rings still and twist the rope through the ring with your free hand. The braids of the rope will separate slightly for the ring to move along. The ring will stay where you leave it. You may clip either end of the leash to your dog's collar.
